Adjustable Forms Confined Space Safety Success

Adjustable Forms Completes Retention Tank at 165 DesPlaines

Adjustable Forms recently completed a topping slab inside a retention tank. Compliant with OSHA guidelines for a confined space, we needed to test air quality before sending any employees into the tank. One Way Safety-SEI Solutions was hired to test and monitor air quality and was prepared to perform emergency rescue, if necessary.

Safety is one of our foremost concerns at Adjustable Forms, and deliberate steps were taken to ensure the security of the seven employees in the tank. Air quality was tested twice before any workers entered, and workers were present in the tank for four hours, with fresh air being continuously blown into the space. To provide additional safeguards, a Safety Manager and Superintendent were present for the duration of the work, and communicated constantly with the employees via two-way radios.

At the conclusion of the task, all employees exited safely. Adjustable Forms would like to especially thank Frank Olivera, Jose Quiroga, Jose Terrazas, Jorge Terrazas, Mario Morales, and Otoniel Carreon.
